This is an excellent and very attractive microwave. My only complaint is that there's no easy way to pause microwave activity and then restart. If I want to stir a dish, I have to either cancel or open the door while it's working. I'm a little afraid of doing that, and would prefer to be able to pause the cooking process, then open the door. Otherwise, my wife and I are very satisfied with the function of this device.

Rack caused arcing on second use ™€" interior never

I used this microwave for only the second or third time when the included metal rack shifted during normal use and caused arcing, burning the interior cavity. There is no warning label on the unit about this risk ™€" and let's be honest, nobody reads microwave manuals cover to cover. After contacting Whirlpool, I was initially told it was user error. I filed a BBB complaint and was escalated to the executive office. Two technician visits later, Whirlpool was unable to restore the interior because the correct touch-up paint color doesn't even exist ™€" their engineer's only authorized color was white, for a silver/pewter interior. My request to replace the liner was denied. The microwave functions, but the interior looks nothing like it did on day one. For a product in this price range, the lack of proper repair support and the absence of the correct replacement paint is unacceptable. This product should not be on the market if it cannot be properly serviced.

Amazing until it breaks

We loved this microwave and used it for about 4 years before it suddenly stopped heating. It didn't act weird or slowly break; it literally worked perfectly until it just stopped heating food. My research suggested that the part needed would cost more than a new microwave, and the Whirlpool service options were a joke (they offered me a warranty plan that would cost FORTY DOLLARS A MONTH) so we are replacing it. I'm so bummed because this microwave is a dream to clean and looks nice.

Magnetron blew 3 years into owning it and customer service is horrendous wait times. I also have a whirlpool fridge with breaking parts in a short time span. I would skip whirlpool in general if i were you.

Terrible Waranty Solution

Frustrated 2026 4/9/2026

I purchased this Microwave through Home Depot and it was installed in the first week of January 2026. During the third week of January the microwave mal functioned and filled 2000 sq feet of my house from floor to ceiling with dark gray/black smoke. I called Whirlpool and they sent out a service company they used to inspect the unit They discovered a connector and Printed circuit board had showed burning marks. They scheduled a second visit to replace the printed circuit board and tested the unity for functionality. Although the microwave worked it continued to smell of an thermal problem They came out again and confirmed with Whirlpool that there was a continuing burning smell. Whirlpool instructed them to add the juice of a lemon to a cup of water and run the unit for 3-5 minutes. This reduced the smell but has not elinitared it. Whirlpool now in formed me on 4.9.26 that although the smell continues the best they could was offer me a 25% discount on anew unit that mal functioned after three weeks. The told me they were not willing to honor the warranty other then the insulting discount.

For a new model it is missing a lot of features. Who decided that the sounds it makes were a good choice needs to rethink their choices, its not a toy its an appliance. Would've been nice to have a height adjustable rack. My old microwave the auto-sense for Popcorn made the "perfect" bag of popcorn, this new one has burned every bag so far, so now i have to stand in front of it and wait for it to stop popping before cancelling the timer.

I really like this microwave. I gave it a 4-Star rating instead of a 5-Star because, after all the unpackaging, bracket setup, etc., as I was lifting it into the wall space and on the brackets, I noticed inside the top shhetmetal TWO RUST spots. I was too far into mounting it to stop and completed installation. Afterwards, I tried calling Whirlpool, but they were not open on weekends, so we called Monday AM. After going through Numerous people, and despite asking a number of times for a supervisor, all I came away was it is cosmetic. All I wanted I told them was to document the rust (This is a new unit purchased from Home Depot) but they continued to not do so.

Poor warranty service

Microwave was working fine. A sudden large noise and it quit working. Understand that this happens. What is disappointing is the service for repair under warranty. Scheduled visit was 11 days out from requested. Out for 10 minutes, says does not have parts, has to order. 9 days later they say the parts are in. earliest appointment is 10 days out. Not happy that service is so bad.

I purchased this microwave 1/11/26 and it was delivered 1/16/26. This is where the problem started, the freight company delivered the incorrect microwave. This was not realized until after the incorrect unit was installed. The incorrect unit also cost less than the unit ordered. I received WMMS3130RB and ordered WMH32519HZ. I have tried the online chat option twice and never get connected to anyone. Tried calling, one hour wait time. That went over their hours of answering phones. All I want is a refund of the price difference since the unit is already installed. Perhaps a negative review will get someone to reach out to me?? My order# 0676391148.

My only complaint with the microwave, is that it heats from the outside in, rather than the inside out. I put in microwave safe dishes and upon removal, the dish it almost too hot to handle, but the food is only lukewarm. Everything else is ok. They don't make them like they used to.

Disappointed in this microwave. It does not even have half of the features of my old microwave. 1) The control panel (key pad) has no back light, so if you are trying to use it very early in the morning, you have to have a flashlight near by. 2) It has no vent or cover over the top exhaust (if used in recirculating mode) to keep dust, or objects from the cabinet above from falling right in there. 3) It seems to be made somewhat, dare I say, cheaper, or less solid, than the old ones. 4) The turn table is about two inches smaller than they used to be. As I said, somewhat disappointed. We will see if the longevity makes it worth while.

My wife and I went to the Home Depot to pick up a microwave right before Thanksgiving since ours gave out. We got there and decided that to look at the appliances in a package of four. We decided to buy all four. What we didn't realize at the time that we came on a Black Friday sale and saved a lot of money on the purchase from the Home Depot. The microwave that we got with the package of appliances looks good and works very good. The key pad is easy to read and the clock window is easy to read also. Easy to clean and open and close the door. Has a nice night light above the range. I would recommend this microwave as a good purchase.

This microwave was one of the Appliance which came with our new home. One thing I don't like is there is not a top where the vent is toward the front of the microwave. It seems like anything can drop down in there or you can place you hand in there which seems dangerous. I do like the way it heats up

Compared to my old Whirlpool microwave

There are a few negative things about the microwave. The keypad is hard to see unless you have bright light. The markings are a grey color. They should of made them bright white. The light underneath to light up the stove top is too far back. Otherwise it works great.
