DO NOT BUY! -- Temperature. This is the worst refrigerator I've purchased! The bottom has no cooling effect I've tried to have the warranty come fix it, but it is THE WORST situation imaginable! The appointment keeps changing, then they don't show up, they show up 4 hours before schedule, the finally came but had to order parts that were expected 5-7 days, they came about 3 weeks later, shows up that wasn't even the problem so it's still not working and my food got spoiled AGAIN! Now I can't buy food as I don't have where to save it. ---- DO NOT BUY!

I have left a negative review from MY purchase. They had advertised my older model which was also bigger. My review you will see with photos. The only time I'd recommend is for a single person. Someone who doesn't need a full fridge. It's just not the one. Also make sure it's not dented.

We are using this as a secondary fridge/freezer in our basement. It is excellent for that purpose. No issues keeping safe temperatures in the fridge or freezer. We deliberately chose a very simple, basic, no-frills fridge with no extra features to keep the cost low and to have less things to potentially fail. Sor far it has been very reliable.

My family has trusted Whirlpool for generations and finally have a reason to shop other brands. The last refrigerator I had made me comfortable with buying another Whirlpool (had a basic lowest line 2005 model that lasted 20 years and I sold it with the house in 2025) but this thing never shuts up. It groans quite often like it hates its job of staying cold. Every time I open the door, it groans and makes awful noises like it's overworking to reseal itself.

Bought this frig. from a reputable appliance store in September 2022 and it did not last 4 years. My old Whirlpool frig. lasted many more years. What happened to the quality? I paid a repairman $159 in June 2026 to determine that the internal seal on this frig. was broken and leaking the refrigerant, causing both the freezer and refrigerator to not maintain the proper cold temp. The cost to fix was more than a new frig. I am very disappointed in the limited useful life of this product that resulted in aggravation, lost food and wasted money. Take your chances but I would not recommend this product.

READ this before Buying

This is the fridge that came with the house I purchased three years ago for my father. Gratefully, I'm finally able to get a new fridge to replace this one + I can't wait. There are so many downsides to this unit, I can't overstate it. First, it's virtually impossible to organize well in this space. Most items disappear into the abyss of the back to be forgotten about, never seen again. The ice maker does not make FILTERED ice, so you're getting dirty ice from this machine. The outside - "stainless steel" - is truly impossible to keep clean + shiny - it just does not happen. Since day one, the door faces of this unit (both the freezer + fridge doors) have looked smeared + there is literally no product that can rectify this; I've tried them all. If you are a tall(ish) person, you DO NOT WANT THIS UNIT - seriously it's made for short people only. I will say, the one plus may be that we can use it in the garage as the extra storage fridge. That's it.

I am very disappointed with this refrigerator. After only six months of normal use, rust and corrosion have already started appearing on the exterior surface. This should not happen on a relatively new appliance and raises serious concerns about the quality of the materials and finish. What is even more frustrating is that the manufacturer has not provided any satisfactory solution to address the problem. A refrigerator is a long-term investment, and customers should expect it to maintain its appearance and durability for many years, not develop rust within months of purchase. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product. The premature corrosion and lack of customer support have been extremely disappointing.

Stuck with a LEMON! Unfortunately our brand new refrigerator started linking, but we didn't notice it until we closed up our summer camp. There was rust on the floor, but at the time we thought it was spilled liquid between the stove and refrigerator. Figured it out the next year, but it was too late for anything to be done. I contacted the company who sold us the refrigerator and told them the product looked repaired, but they said it was brand new. The back of the refrigerator looks like it was worked on, possibly at the factory? We used it only 3 months the first year and it is a piece of crap. We now have a silicone mat under the refrigerator to catch the water dripping. I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool again!

Getting concerned

We bought this a month ago. It was making noises that I hoped would work their way out as it is recommended by manufacturers, they have not gotten better. Also it squeaks with any movement like it™€™s uneven or something. The door also squeaks when opening and shutting. I fear I have a lemon and now have to go through the inconvenience of calling in a service person. This all comes after a terrible experience with a 3 year old replacement(another brand). I™€™m of the opinion that quality built appliance no longer exist. You™€™re lucky yo get 5 years out of them. Yeah I remember the good old days. I miss them and young people would also if they had experienced them.

Unfortunately, the quality isn't what it was 15 or 20 years ago; the materials are poor quality, and it's very noisy. Stainless steel is difficult to keep clean. It seems ridiculous that more than a quarter into the 21st century, this refrigerator doesn't have a light in the freezer. I just hope that when I need any service, repair parts will be available.

Just a basic refridgerator

I bought a basic refridgerator, top freezer, no ice, no water because of the many problems, poor quality and high price of modern appliances. The unit keeps cold nicely. It works, so far. It is pretty cheap not to put a light in the freezer but I can live without it. The refridgerator is rather noisy when it runs and there is an annoying vibration noise. The "stainless steel" exterior finish is difficult to keep clean looking, as they have always been. I wish you would make a white refridgerator that did not look like it was out of the 1980s, maybe with a white with some stainless trim combo. White is easy to keep clean. The interior shelves feel very thin and fragile with very thin trim.

The food is cold

We bought this fridge about a month ago. Its got a good amount of space for a family of 6, but I do wish it had another full size drawer instead of the small sliding drawer and that the shelves were half length and on frames so they were more adjustable and sturdy. The shelf tends to bow a little when holding milk gallons, juice jugs, and a water pitcher, especially when the sliding drawer is used as well. One of the shelf supports, aka thin molded plastic ledges, was defective from the manufacturer. Its still functional, just looks damaged. You can also see the foam insulation in a couple spots on the outside, namely the top corner of the refrigerator door and one of the small circles for the door hinge on top of the unit. On the bright side, we plugged it in, it got cold. So far its staying cold. The light in the fridge is nice and bright. There is no light in the freezer but we haven't missed it since this is in our kitchen. In a darker area like a garage or basement that might be more of a problem. So far so good. Hopefully it lasts more than 6 years, our last two of other brands did not.

We have had no problem with keeping food at their acceptable temperatures. While we hear the odd noise emanating from this appliance, not sure from where, it could be container placement? Not a Decent Warranty! Beware!

I bought this appliance recently. I am not happy with the stainless steel finish. It is the cheapest looking and feeling finish I have ever owned on an appliance. The refrigerator does work well so far. We bought it for a bar area in our basement. I am also needing a larger refrigerator for our kitchen. Soon after I bought this Whirlpool Zi received a phone call from the warranty department. The reresentative was trying to sell me MORE Warranty than I already bought through Costco and Allstate.He informed me that the mechanical parts of the frig aren't covered.! I would NEVER have bought this in the first place! Now, I won't be buying Whirlpool again.

Bought this product two weeks ago. Love the way it looks. We wanted the old style freezer Fridge on the bottom. It looks great, but the unit is a little noisy. Everything I™€™m reading online says that it is normal. Best Buy won™€™t even take my call about it being noisy. Seems to make noise in the upper right hand corner in the back. I do not have an icemaker so I™€™m not sure what the noise is. Everything works as it should though so hopefully. To live with the noise.

Solid but room for improvement

If you don't sell this with finger resistant finish, you make ever woman's life miserable i wanted everything else but that was missing on the model. It's already irritating. Also the sides are grey not matching stainless steal which was not clear in the specs/pictures.

Old KENMORE Reliable /New WHIRLPOOL Arrival

In 1992 I purchased a KENMORE White 30"-Wide Top Freezer Refrigerator. On December 23, 2025, my KENMORE was "No More", and I purchased a WHIRLPOOL Stainless Steel 33-Inch Wide Top Freezer Refrigerator. Back in the day, I knew that WHIRLPOOL was a "distant but reliable cousin" to KENMORE which had stopped manufacturing appliances many years ago and was "No More". So I researched many refrigerator brands and shopped many stores to narrow my choices. WHIRLPOOL always topped my list of refrigerators. When the service men delivered and installed my WHIRLPOOL Frig and were hauling her out the door, my old KENMORE said to my new WHIRLPOOL," I'm so glad she picked you to take my place after all these years."

Good price

So far I would say the inside space and price is good. I have one complaint which is there is no light in the freezer. Daytime was no problem but when I first opened the freezer in the evening I couldn™€™t find a thing and needed to use a flash light to see items in the back. I never researched this before purchase as I just figured all refrigerator™€™s came with freezer light.
